How much does dental hygiene cost in Prague?
A first visit is 2 490 CZK (55 min), regular hygiene 1 990 CZK (55 min) and a short recall 1 490 CZK (25 min). All prices are all-inclusive with EMS AIRFLOW®; examination and consultation are always part of the treatment price — no hidden surcharges.
How often should I visit a dental hygienist?
Twice a year is the standard for healthy adults. Patients with fixed braces, aligners, implants, treated periodontitis, diabetes, or those who are pregnant benefit from a recall every three to four months.
Is professional dental hygiene painful?
For most patients the appointment is very comfortable. PIEZON® ultrasound feels like a soft hum with cool water; AIRFLOW® like mild pressure and a cool jet. With inflamed gums or exposed roots it can be more sensitive at first — we always adapt the pace to your comfort.
How long does the appointment take?
First visit 55 minutes (full examination, biofilm disclosing, AIRFLOW®, PIEZON® if needed, polishing, fluoride treatment, home-care coaching), regular hygiene 55 minutes, short recall 25 minutes.
What is AIRFLOW® and is it included in the price?
AIRFLOW® is a Swiss method that uses fine powder combined with warm water and air to gently remove bacterial biofilm and surface stains from coffee, tea or wine — we choose from several powder types (erythritol, glycine, sodium bicarbonate) depending on sensitivity and need. The natural shade of your enamel is not changed (it is not a whitening treatment). It is part of every hygiene visit at Dental Hygiene PLUS at no extra cost, used individually according to the findings (in the spirit of Guided Biofilm Therapy principles).
Do you issue invoices for international insurance?
Yes. Dental hygiene is not covered by Czech public health insurance, but most Czech providers (VZP, ZPMV, OZP and others) contribute 500–1 500 CZK a year from their prevention programmes. For private and expat insurance we issue a detailed English-language invoice on request.
